Description

Lucina is a well loved and well equipped example of the Horizon 26. For the last 7 years she has been based on the Exe and used for cruises around the South West including several trips to the Isles of Scilly. She is also a regular winner in local club races. In 2020 she had a new set of cruising laminate sails from Westaway Sails, and a custom build replacement rudder that significantly improves handling in a breeze. A fully survey was carried out in November 2019.

Custom made replacement rudder (2020). Solid cedar core with a 4-layers of glass fibre. Compared to the standard rudder, this is 10cm deeper, slightly narrower (higher aspect), balanced, and approximately 2kg lighter. The result is a lighter and more responsive helm with more grip when pressed. The boat also sits nearly level when dried out.
